Andrew Sullivan had some interesting connections/links with other bloggers and writers who are reflecting on the passage of Prop. 8 this past week in CA. Putting all the blame on either the Mormon Church, African American churches or Latino/a groups seems to be too easy because there is no homogeneity within those groups either.
It is clear that the only way forward is by educating, educating, and educating.

I'm for civil union and holy marriage, neither institutions (state and church) dpending on the other for definition. I do think, however, that if the state is going to legally recognize one religious group's rites, they ought to recognize the other, otherwise, they should recognize none. I like what the Diocese of California is preferring for both hetero and lgbt couples: go get legal, then come and we will bless that.
I just started a new blog on the gay revolution. My partner and I are sick and tired of being treated as second class citizens and it is disturbing that African-Americans and Latinos came out against us in the end, when our community stands for them and their equal treatment.
