We drove home to California from Nevada the night of the election and arrived at a friends' house to watch the returns. Elation at Obama's win was mixed with terrible sadness as we saw Proposition 8 pass. The brief period when we were allowed to get married (and we did) was over, and discrimination was written into our state's constitution. Heartbreaking. I'm sorry about NC and its vote. With 2 million children living in GLBTQ-led households, we have to redouble our efforts to make family equality a reality and as you say, getting people to realize how important it is to vote is one of the key steps. Thanks for raising children who will know that!Craighttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12401830467813733980noreply@blogger.com
